"Dr. Rabin is the most personable, genuinely concerned Physician that I have had the pleasure of being a patient. I had the Essure (contraception) implants done early spring of 2007 and I am so grateful for Dr. Rabin sharing this procedure with me and performing the placement of the implants as well. I've endured a history of endometriosis and I have experience incredible pain. However, this procedure was done while I was awake and comfortable with minor pain and cramping.   "My GYN retired....which was some what of a shock since I had been seeing him for YEARS!! So, when I was asked to pick someone new I was a little apprehensive. I reviewed my list of choices, asked some questions and finally decided on Dr. Rabin. His bio was impressive and I liked his philosophy. I think one other thing that swayed me was that he uses the ultra sound machine. For me at least, I think that tool is essential to having a very thorough exam (it detected 2 small cysts that probably wouldn't have been found otherwise - they went away on their own but none the less I was glad to have known about them). In any event, when I had my initial visit, I was a little nervous given that I was so used to my other doctor, but within about the first 45 seconds I was completely at ease, and I felt a connection to Dr. Rabin. Bear with me, please. This may be wordy, but Dr. Rabin is so AWESOME, I refuse to mince words! In fact if I could put a title on this posting, it would be: DR. RABIN IS AWESOME!!! All the testimonials you will read from the women who posted here are not giving him nearly enough credit and their praise is genuine, as is mine. I have to say, prior to seeing Dr. Rabin (which happened on accident, actually!), I was one of those women who was very adamant about only wanting to see a female gynecologist because men blah blah blah. So, naturally, I was nervous about seeing him at first, but as soon as he walked into the room I immediately got the sense of his good nature and his genuine interest in me as a patient (he had me at 'Hello!'). He took the time to speak with me and listen to my issue and allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed to until I was satisfied. Now, I thought maybe this was just how they treat you the first time (you know how some doctors reel you in then forget about you during subsequent visits?) but when I had to go back again, I was (once again!) very surprised and proved totally wrong. Dr. Rabin was just as enthusiastic about my treatment and treated me like a human being, not just another patient he had to see that day. He is an unbelievably amazing doctor. I have to agree with the assertion in one of the other testimonials that he can't retire. EVER. After seeing Dr. Rabin the first time, I was going on and on and on about how AWESOME he was because visiting him is so pleasant it's almost more like a social visit. Please don't take that statement out of context and begin thinking that he is not serious enough or just goofs off (even though he is hilarious!) because he is very thorough when it comes to your care. He will make sure you understand what's going on and how to treat it, if necessary. My other point here is that I talked him up so much that my sister was beginning to wonder if I was addicted to going to the gynecologist. In the end, However, she decided to go see him herself. After her visit, she called me up and I believe her exact words were, "I went to see Dr. Rabin today and I see exactly what you mean...he is AWESOME!!" The moral of the story here is threefold: 1) Dr. Rabin is AWESOME. 2) His beside manner (so to speak because it's more like a, uh...table? in there) is so pleasant and he takes such an interest in your care that I think it will make you more likely to take a more active interest in your health. Which is important because the more you dread going to the doctor the less likely you will be to go, right? Luckily, there is a solution for that when it comes to your gynecological health. His name is Dr. Rabin. 3) Dr. Rabin is AWESOME. post script: I'm almost finished, i promise! but i wanted to also assure anyone reading this that i promise you i am a normal average everyday person (as i believe all of the other people who made testimonials on here are), I don't work for the doctor and I'm not the doctor. but I am a woman who is very appreciative of Dr. Rabin and his work. "Thanks a million Dr. Rabin....you are truly the best!!! I'd drive 4hrs just to see you ... I think it's wonderful what you're doing now though, so many Doctors don't go the extra mile....or they don't bother to "dig" further for unanswered questions. There certainly is a need for "Advanced Gynecology". I love how you're so down to earth...you are actually very funny though serious and aggressive when needed. I've never left your office with an unanswered question. I appreciate you always taking the time to be so thorough with your patients. You are a rarity.  Honestly, I feel like I owe you a BIG THANK YOU for my being pregnant as well as getting my thyroid dosage where it needed to be. 	"Dr. Rabin is very easy to talk to.  I had a hysterectomy in my late twenties and had a lot of questions about how my life would change.  Dr. Rabin is a doctor that speaks to his patients as if they were his friend and does not make you feel silly or rushed through your questions and concerns.  He delivered my first child almost twelve years ago.  When my daughter needs a visit to the gynecologist, I would not think twice about taking her to the man who brought her into the world!"  K.S.
	"I suffered from painful menstrual cycles my entire adult life.  For the first 20 years I was handed prescription anti-inflammatories with a consoling pat on the back. Meanwhile, endometriosis grew internally to the point where surgery was required at the age of 37 and again at 42.  Each time endometriosis as well as organs were removed.  Since and during that time, my many doctors continued to give me a sympathetic shrug while holding out an array of pharmaceutical options from Depo-Lupron injections to birth control pills, patches, and injections to anti-inflammatories and even narcotics.  Later, when I started to experience peri-menopausal symptoms I was told to 'ride it out' or go back on the pill by one doctor.  He said my hormone levels were normal for my age.  I was up to 27 drenching hot flashes in a 24 hour period and smelling like a pizzeria at the end of the day.  This along with horrible sadness and insomnia made 'riding it out' an unacceptable option and I was tired of living on drugs.  I took my health into my own hands and went searching for natural options.  I read a book by Suzanne Somers and decided to find a doctor who would help me pursue BHRT.  The next doctor, I was told over the phone, did prescribe BHRT.  However, the consultation seemed more like a pitch from a pharmaceutical company.  The doctor kept asking me why I wanted BHRT rather than the widely accepted, proved and effective HRT.  At the end of the office visit, he begrudgingly prescribed a dose of BHRT.  After taking the prescribed BHRT for 4 weeks, I still didn't feel quite right.  The doctor reiterated to me the effectiveness of HRT and seemed bothered that BHRT required a concerted effort by both patient and doctor.  It was a Pharmacist at a Compounding Pharmacy who recommended Dr. Rabin to me.  Dr. Rabin was a breath of fresh air.  He talked about my symptoms and BHRT with enthusiasm.  When my first saliva test came back I actually got a hand written note from Dr. Rabin, imploring me to make an appointment in order to get my BHRT on the right track.  After taking the new dosage for two weeks, I called and left a message that I was interested in splitting the dose like he had suggested at the last consultation.  I fully expected a phone nurse to call me back telling me to make an appointment or pick up my new prescription.  I was totally shocked that Dr. Rabin himself returned my call once on a Friday after hours and another time on a Saturday.  With his help I have not had a hot flash in months.  The extra testosterone in the morning gives me the extra energy and alertness I need as an Air Traffic Controller.  The extra progesterone in the evening helps me sleep sounder than I have in years.  I no longer feel I am stepping on to a conveyor belt when I walk into my doctor's office.  I feel Dr. Rabin is as enthusiastic as I am about my health."
